BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The CLCS is a member supported organization that is managed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. Trustees are elected to hold office for a term of two years, and must meet the following qualifications:
- 1Be committed to the mission and goals of CLCS
- 2Participate in various tasks and programs undertaken by the Board of Trustees
- 3Be paid up as a full member at the time of application
- 4Sign a conflict of interest statement
Any member who meets the qualifications may apply to the Board of Trustees for candidacy. The Board meets a minimum of three times annually, and meetings are open to all members. We are currently looking for interested, qualified CLCS members to join our Board of Trustees. If you would like to apply, click on the link below to download an application:

COMMITTEES
Get involved with CLCS!! Join any of the many committees listed below. It’s a great way to meet new people and help your lake community. Let any one of us know of your interest in person or by email.
Lake Management
The Lake Management Committee is responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information regarding the vitality and maintenance of the waters, shoreline, and watershed of Copake Lake.
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee designs, proposes and organizes activities designed to raise funds for the organization.
Communications and Technology
The Communications/Tech Committee serves to maintain CLCS website, develop and publish social media content, communicate to community via email and other channels, collect and maintain data relevant to the Lake community in support of CLCS initiatives, publish the newsletter and donor recognition, and provide technology consultation and support to Board and Committees as needed.

Safety & Education
The Safety & Education Committee is responsible for researching and creating educational programs and materials to promote lake safety and wellness and distributing to the community.
Finance
The Finance Committee supports the functions of the treasurer, including the creation of an annual budget, the purchase and review of insurance policies, year end audit, bookkeeping, and filing of tax returns.
Membership
The Membership Committee maintains membership information and contribution history. It generates newsletter articles and mailings to assist in maintaining and increasing the membership rolls and contributions. It will also seek volunteers to engage in CLCS committee activities.
Bylaws
The Bylaws Committee is responsible for crafting bylaws changes voted on by the board, for approval by the board.
